To understand this culinary phenomenon, we took to the streets to hear what people really think about the Korean food fever sweeping the nation.

It’s like a party in my mouth!” – Aarav, College Student

Aarav, a 21-year-old college student, couldn’t contain his excitement about Korean food. He described it as a “party in my mouth”, emphasizing the unique blend of flavors that Korean cuisine offers. “The spicy, sweet, and sour tastes all at once are something you don’t usually find in Indian cuisine,” he said.

 

“I’m in love with Kimchi” – Priya, Software Engineer

Priya, a 28-year-old software engineer, expressed her newfound love for Kimchi, a staple in Korean cuisine. “I never imagined fermented cabbage could taste so good. It’s spicy, tangy, and goes well with almost everything,” she exclaimed. For Priya, Kimchi is more than just a side dish; it’s a revelation.

 “Korean BBQ is a whole new experience” – Rohan, Business Owner

Rohan, who owns a boutique store, shared his experience with Korean BBQ. “It’s not just about the food; it’s about the experience. Cooking your meat right at the table and sharing it with friends is something truly unique,” he said. Rohan believes that Korean BBQ offers a social dining experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.

 “Healthy and delicious” – Anita, Yoga Instructor

Anita, a yoga instructor, was drawn to Korean cuisine for its health benefits. “Korean food uses a lot of vegetables, and dishes like Bibimbap are both healthy and delicious,” she explained. For Anita, Korean cuisine is a perfect blend of health and flavor.

It’s an acquired taste” – Vikram, Chef

Vikram, a local chef with a penchant for trying different cuisines, shared a slightly different view. “Korean food is definitely interesting, but it’s an acquired taste. The flavors are very distinct and might not appeal to everyone initially,” he opined. However, Vikram admires the complexity and variety in Korean cooking.

The fascination with Korean cuisine in India is more than just a trend; it’s a cultural exchange. People appreciate the unique flavors, the health benefits, and the communal dining experience that Korean food offers. It’s a culinary journey that brings together the best of both worlds, creating a flavorful harmony that resonates with a diverse Indian palate.
